What is a VI Peel?

A VI Peel is a medical-grade chemical peel made with Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA), Salicylic Acid, Phenol, Vitamin C, and other potent minerals. It offers patients a safe, effective path toward a healthy-looking complexion and can treat a range of troublesome aesthetic concerns. A VI Peel can address the following:

  • Crow’s feet
  • Wrinkles, lines, and creases
  • Enlarged pores
  • Melasma
  • Acne and acne scarring
  • Sun damage
  • Sagging skin
  • Additional signs of aging

What Can I Expect From My Treatment?

Our VI Peel in Redwood City is a quick, 30-minute treatment that many patients enjoy as part of their anti-aging self-care regimen. The skin is full cleansed and any traces of oil are carefully removed to ensure uniform results. Your provider will then apply several layers of the VI Peel, which may cause a slight tingling sensation and a “frosted” look.

Once the peel has been absorbed by the skin, sunscreen is administered. You will remove the peel solution within a few hours at home. Our team will provide you with cleansing face wipes infused with Vitamin C and tretinoin to help optimize your results.

What Will My Recovery Entail?

After your VI Peel, the skin may appear slightly bronzed, a sign that the pigmented cells are being flushed out. It is mandatory that you keep your skin well-hydrated and protected during the healing process. We will recommend the best moisturizer for your unique skin type as part of your detailed aftercare plan. The skin will begin to peel within about three days and you may experience itchiness. Peeling will continue for approximately seven days.

Your newly revitalized layer of skin will feel sensitive and tender and may exhibit a pink-ish color similar to a sunburn. You will need to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher on a regular basis. Clients can benefit from a series of VI Peel sessions, undergoing treatment every 2-4 weeks for best results. With regular maintenance, you can retain the refreshed, glowing complexion that the VI Peel has beautifully revealed.
